Free IMAP Server Included IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. IMAP is a method of accessing electronic mail on a mail server. IMAP offers several advantages over POP3 - including the ability to manage email in folders on and off the email server. We include a free IMAP server with every account. The IMAP server gives you the ability to use advanced email clients such as Outlook or Netscape Mail that support the advanced features of the IMAP protocol. In addition, you can use IMAP web based clients like SquirrelMail or Horde. (We include both Horde and SquirrelMail with every web hosting account.) you@yourname.com
Maximum Choices in Email Clients
In order to provide our clients the most choices in email clients and technologies, we support 3 different methods of email access.
First, we support the standard POP3 mail protocol. Almost all email clients support the POP3 email protocol out of the box. For instance, Outlook Express, Netscape Mail, Mozilla Mail and more all support POP3 byb default.
Second, we offer full support for the IMAP mail protocol, via our fre IMAP server. IMAP is the mail protocol of choice for many advanced mail clients.
Finally, we offer three different webmail clients - Horde, Neomail and SquirrelMail - that you can use to access your email through a web browser from anywhere.
Accessing your Email Accounts
Your email will be accessible using the standard POP3 protocol as well as the IMAP protocol. This means that you can use almost any email client software package to access your email. This includes Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, Euroda, Apple's Mail client, pine, or many, many others.
If you don't have a mail client, or if your away from your desk, you can use the built in webmail software, included with every web hosting account for free.
