A Unique / Static IP Address is an IP Address that is unique to your web site and is not shared with any other web site.

It is a common misconception that you have to have a Unique / Static IP Address in order to rank well with the search engines. There is no basis to this claim. In fact Google has come out and said specifically that is not important or required to have a Unique / Static IP Address.

Any web site can use a Unique / Static IP Address but it only required for your web site is you plan to use SSL to offer secure access to your web site using https.
