FAST WEB SERVERS

|
Heavy Duty Web Servers Our web servers are heavy-duty systems designed for 24 by 7 high speed web site delivery. In order to meet the demands of intense web sites, we use custom-built or Dell servers to ensure we have the most powerful servers available. Faster CPUs = Faster Performance All of our servers use modern AMD and Intel processors, including the "Barton" versions of the AMD Athlon XP and the Hyperthreaded versions of the Intel Pentium 4. Our servers, based on today's top of the line processors, run many times faster than older AMD Duron, Intel Pentium 3 or Celeron based servers. All this extra speed ensures that you receive maximum performance for web sites hosted on our servers. Dynamic web sites that use technologies like PHP, CGI, Perl and databases like MySQL benefit greatly by the additional processing performance. More RAM = Faster Performance The fastest CPU in the world won't do much good if it doesn't have available memory (RAM) to work with. In order to ensure that our servers are not slowed down by lack of RAM we outfit all of our servers with a minimum of 512 MB of high speed DDR RAM. Most servers have 1 GB or more of RAM. RAID 1 Disk Systems = Redundancy and Performance All of our shared web servers use RAID 1 Hard Disk systems. RAID 1 disk systems use 2 hard disks that are exact copies of each other and that act as 1 disk. Using RAID 1 disks we ensure that all possible precautions are taken to prevent data loss. In the event one hard disk fails the other disk will still operate and no data will be lost. It then becomes a simple matter to replace the failed hard disk and replicate the server data onto the new disk, once again ensuring that data is duplicated on 2 hard disks. An additional benefit of RAID 1 disk systems is improved disk performance on the server. Since there are two hard disks in the RAID 1 system, the server can read simultaneously from 2 hard disks at a time, effectively doubling the possible disk read speed. Learn about our Servers We post the current specifications of our shared servers. To learn about the types of servers we are deploying now, visit our System Status page and click on one of the server's Announcements links. From here you will be able to view the system specifications for one of our servers. <%@ include file="/ssi/learn-about-sales-links.jsp" %> |
